Mobile Supermarket
DESCRIPTION
This is a design for a school bus transformed into a mobile supermarket. All of the seats would be torn out of the bus, the walls would be lined with shelves both inside and outside, and a cash register stand would be built along with a small kitchen.
PROCESS
The concept was developed by a Northeastern startup called “Fresh Truck”. They reached out to Northeastern to find a mechanical engineering student to help them design the retrofitted bus. I volunteered and designed the bus in CAD for them. It was a very difficult task as a freshman with zero exposure to any CAD work. I downloaded AutoCAD and spent days learning how use the program. It is not my best CAD work but it impressed everyone given my lack of experience and was later used to show investors the concept.
LESSONS LEARNED
In this process I learned the basics of 3D AutoCAD, but more importantly, I learned to never underestimate what I can teach myself to do.
